KINO is a film society based atop Maker Heights, screening films within the community’s own Patchwork Studios venue.

Foreign Voices are an alternative / experimental rock / post rock band with members hailing from Plymouth, Stroud and Cornwall.

Shamanic drumming, using the beat of the drum to lead us into an altered state. An ancient technique that has been used for thousands of years promoting healing, spiritual growth, and connection with the natural world

An open community of men striving simply to be their best selves, who make time to meet up socially once a month to find mutual support and camaraderie, and learn from a diverse community.

Following popular demand, we're excited to be working once more with Sacred Space Healing and Keynvor Yoga to provide a bespoke new wellness offering at Maker Heights. Soundbaths utilise sounds and vibrations to ease you into a meditative state, relaxing your body and mind. A perfect compliment to a Yin Yoga session with Donna Davidson.

Jam on Toast! Born of the original Maker jams long past, these nights of open-stage antics showcase this Peninsula’s raw talent in abundance. All instruments and backline (mics, drum kit, amps, PA etc) are provided, and our Tavern is open for that dutch courage option if required. Pay What You Feel.

An artist of a region where alternative-pop is like a second religion Reuben Myles Tyghe, aka Reuben's Daughters has been evolving for almost two decades at the heart of the local independent scene in the South West of England. His 'daughters' accompany on the stage, in the studio and with all creative elements. Behind this nickname, both intimate and affectionate, hide the pillars of a rock-solid pop architecture.

Native Devonian girl Sarah Yeo has been making a impression on the Live music scene for at least two decades performing her way around many venues both large and small in the UK. In more recent years she has won fans performing across the pond in New York City and California.
Her varying experience on the road has greatly enriched her musical senses, and is what's enabling her song writing to cross over in to many different genres.

After releasing critically acclaimed album Orange is the New Black, Robert sought out a band to bring these songs to a live audience. Robert & The Pills was born and has morphed into something special.
Their live show is emotive and intense. They play no genre music, but if you HAD to name genres, it would be post-punk/alternative hip-hop/grunge/spoken word and Jazz.

WORD. Please join us up the hill for an evening of poetry, spoken word, flash fiction and maybe even a bit of comedy. Come along and support our local wordsmiths.
This event is FREE but as ever, donations are welcomed to reinvest back into the venue to enable to future of events like this one. Doors open at 7pm and we usually kick off around 7:30pm.

Who remembers the Hilloween Extravagranza? Classic hits and Big tunes, people literally dancing on the tables. The main man resposible for that late night ruckas, returns from his excursion to the United States with a fresh stack of 7's ready to take his place behind the decks once more. Bringing retro hits, singalong anthems and forgotten classics.

Accompanied by none other than the Southwest Selecta who complements the aforementioned cheese by unloading his truck full of bangers once again into Patchwork Studios. Tunes ranging from Drum&Bass, Ghetto Funk, Glitch Hop, House, Electro Swing and Bassline.

A ceremonial workshop which holds and leads the way for this cathartic energy to align and make way for the journey of drum birthing.

Ho! Feast your festive ears on this Candlelit Christmas Special, a twist on the monthly format. With three revered musicians taking to the stage, each established in their own right, and combining their talents throughout with duo and trio medleys of holiday cheer and songs crafted specifically for one night only. This is guaranteed to be a truly unique folk experience, not to be missed.

Dancefloor revellers and shape-throwers, feast your ears on our last major tropical fiesta in Patchwork Studios this season. Don't sweat it though, we'll be back In January with a fresh programme of affordable events to keep you sane through the long winter. Weatherman Sounds has become renowned for hosting dancefloor-pummelling set, with borderless selections from around the world. Expect Afro, Latin, Funk, Reggae and everything in between, bringing some spice and soul to our festive hilltop venue.

Mixing delta blues traditions with nu-blues songwriting Thomas Ford & Becca Langsfords energetic live shows have taken them all across the UK and Europe selling records everywhere and even further.

United By Music are bringing October Drift to Patchwork Studios! Fresh off the back of their countrywide tour on release of their second album, Somerset indie rock outfit October Drift are making their way down the country and up the Hill for a special show this September. Their High energy live performances have seen them selling out venues even before a single was released, catching the attention of crowds accross the country and and has seen them playing support to the likes of We are Scientists and Editors in recent years. Seemingly sonically forged in the 90’s, their synthesis of British Shoegaze and dirty US Grunge has seen them championed by radio’s Steve Lamaq and has pulled comparisons to industry giants such as Interpol and The National. This tour has included iconic venues such as The Roundhouse in London, and we have the honour of closing this tour out in the intimate patchwork space. This is the last chance in the country to see this band on this tour, and what a perfect setting for it! It should go without saying that this is a show not to be missed.

DJ Dazzy B (aka Karmaloji), initially from Manchester, has spent most of his time DJ'ing within the beautiful Channel Islands since 2003 and now resides in Cornwall. Spinning mostly vinyl, his influences are primarily of a 'Cafe Del Mar' vibe with a plethora of classic balearic vibes that we all know and love. Plus a vast selection of breaks, ghetto-funk, electro-swing etc, guaranteed to get you feet moving. Since moving to Cornwall in 2013 he has has played at a variety of venues all over the South West, such as Whiskers (Newquay), The Rockpool (Godrevey), Mermaid (Watergate Bay), The Watering Hole (Perranporth), The Unicorn & Blue Bar (Porthtowan), plus many more, also festivals such as The Great Estate, Tropical Pressure, Rock Oyster, even Truro Cathedral plus many others.
