Live at the Barracks: Robert & The Pills + Special Guests

  • Patchwork Studios Maker Heights Cornwall UK (map)

Live at the Barracks is a flagship live music event series, attracting underground and nationally acclaimed acts alike to our humble home on the hill. We curate regular offerings of the finest talent from across the UK, and spotlight homegrown local goodness from the wealth within our region.

Robert & The Pills were initially formed to play Robert’s music live, but they have morphed into something special.

They play no genre music, but if you had to name genres, it would be post-punk/alternative hip-hop/grunge/spoken word and Jazz. Their live show is emotive, intense and described by many as giving goosebumps.
Robert was recently signed to False Idols, a record label owned by Mercury Prize nominated Tricky of Massive Attack fame, with a release due in the summer.  The album features work from Grammy nominated and 2 x mercury prize winner, John Parish (PJ Harvey), Billy Woods, Roc Marciano, Tricky and others. The album is a collaboration with The Purist (Danny Brown, MF Doom, Jay Electronica and Loyle Carner). Robert's precvious album was played on BBC radio 1 and 6 by Giles Peterson and Huey Morgan and featured Rag’n’Bone Man, Sleaford Mods, Soweto Kinch, Atmosphere and others.
